A Midsummer Night's DreamA risqué fairy fundraiser for Community United Against Violence
with celebrity host
The event proved to be a fun night, raising thousands of dollars to help CUAV provide emergency services and support for LGBT victims of hate crimes and domestic abuse. After a last minute sponsor fell through, the hosted bar was provided by Tim Gullicksen, David Clark, and Holmgren & Associates. Food was catered by Healthy Spirits and by Christiana Remington. And desserts were provided by the San Francisco Chocolate Factory. We had six candidates competing to be elected king or queen of the fairies, including Artemis Chase, Michael Phillis, Katya Ludmilla Smirnoff-Skyy, Varian with a V, Foxy Cotton, and Johnny Phoenix Green.
The candidates earned votes through the sale of raffle tickets and in the end, Katya was elected our new Queen of the Fairies, and the first runner-up, Foxy Cotton, became her King. Before the coronation, Connie Champagne and Ethel Merman delighted the crowd with an entr'acte performance. For more details, check out...
